Brittany Murphy dies at 32

21 Dec

bmurphyActress Brittany Murphy likely died of natural causes Sunday at age 32, a Los Angeles County coroner’s official says.

Murphy apparently collapsed in the bathroom Sunday morning and authorities are looking into her medical history, he said. An autopsy is planned for Monday or Tuesday, he said.

She broke into the business in the early 1990s with small roles in various commercials, TV series — including Frasier and Party of Five — and movies. Murphy also found work in voiceovers, including voicing the character Luanne on the animated series King of the Hill as well as Gloria the penguin in Happy Feet.

Before her marriage to Simon Monjack, she dated Ashton Kutcher, who co-starred with Murphy in the romantic comedy Just Married. She is due to appear in Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables, set for release next year.

Rotating dream house

You like the view from your living room, but you would have loved it from your bedroom. Well, it’s not possible unless you are living in a house that can rotate. A couple in Australia have managed to build their dream house that can rotate to follow the sun. Luke and Debbie Everingham’s home, in New South Wales, can turn 360 degrees with the help of a mechanism powered by two small electric engines no larger than that of a washing machine. Designed on a turntable upon which it is built, the house took around $660,000 to complete with a touchscreen panel in the living area along with electrical fittings around which the house can turn.

2011 McLaren MP4-12C

It was a daunting task for McLaren to meet or exceed expectations when designing the successor to one of the greatest cars of this era, the F1. Formula 1 inspired engineering has led to the development of the mid-mounted bespoke V8 engine that will produce 600bhp from 3.8 twin-turbocharged liters. A pre-cog transmission function helps prime the gearbox for an impending shift, leading to shift times to rival F1 cars. The chassis architecture that they speak of comes in the form of a 176lb one-piece chassis, a racing-derived piece dubbed the Carbon MonoCell. Expect the MP4-12C to debut in 2011, with its sights set against the Ferrari 458 and Lamborghini Gallardo.
