Distant Relatives ($10) is the 13-track result of the collaboration between Nas and Bob Marley’s son Damian. Mixing Nas’ trademark introspective, powerful rap lyrics with Marley’s mastery of reggae and dub producing, Distant Relatives becomes more than the sum of its parts, with an overall effect that’s as much world music as hardcore hip-hop.
